One business he bought was Berry's in Elland, West Yorkshire. Abe liked the name and when he opened a shop in Leeds a few years later he called it Berry's. With the onset of World War II, the other shops closed and he concentrated on this Leeds shop. Abe's daughter Jeanne Wolff and her husband, Gee, joined the business and Berry's prospered. It was a smart exclusive shop well-known in the city for quality jewellery and personal service. Thirty years ago Jeanne and Gee's son in law, Jeffery Walton, entered the company and they continued to develop and build Berry's. After studying Management Science at University in Manchester, Simon Walton joined his father in the family business 10 years ago. Since then Berry's have expanded with businesses in Hull, Newcastle, York, Glasgow, Nottingham, Windsor and a second shop in the Victorian Quarter of Leeds. Berry's has been chosen by the Association Interprofessionnelle de la Haute Horlogerie in Switzerland as one of the world's leading jewellers and watch specialists.
